It may be Take Your Kids to Work Day everywhere else, but here at BPI Sports, we decided to celebrate Take Your Kids to Workout Day!
According to the CDC, the percentage of children in the United States with obesity has more than tripled since the 1970s. This is unacceptable. Obesity not only affects your child’s immediate health, it can also have long-term effects on physical, social and emotional health. Obese children are more likely to be bullied and suffer from low self esteem, for example. And without help, they are more likely to turn into obese adults.
Set your child up for lifelong success by establishing healthy habits early on. This was our goal with Take Your Kids to Workout Day. By introducing your mini me’s to the basics of nutrition and the importance of staying active, you are giving them their first line of defense against obesity.
