Your phone is always with you anyways, so why not put it to work?

Simply input your calorie intake and balance it against your calorie expenditure to help you stay within your daily calorie budget. In addition to a calorie counter and exercise planner, the app includes a recipe builder and a whole community of built-in support to help you achieve your goals. Join peer groups or even challenges to keep you motivated.
A good workout regimen is nothing without nutrition. In a similar realm to Lose It! is MyFitnessPal. The app helps you count the calories you consume every day, as well as the calories you expend, so you become more aware of your eating habits and just how much exercise it takes to burn off what you eat. Look up foods in a database of more than 6 million items, use the recipe calculator for your homemade creations or even scan the barcode on the package. Plus, it’s compatible with more than 50 fitness trackers and other apps, so it’s easy to automatically integrate your activity data.
Short for Simply Work It, Sworkit has users create targeted workouts rather than focus on set exercise routines. Select your goal (improve cardio health, become more flexible, increase strength, etc.) and the desired duration of your workout, and the app will coach you through a routine of randomized exercises. Each workout is different, so you’re always alert and never bored. Plus, you can stream your premade workout mixes through Spotify.
Wish there was a Facebook for fitness? This app is for you. Fitocracy is a social network for fitness junkies, using gamification and peer pressure to keep you on the right track. Look up routines, log workouts to score points, even gain achievements. Best of all, your activity is constantly streamed on a social media-like feed other Fitocrats can view, comment on and share. If that’s not enough, you can also automatically post updates to Twitter or Facebook.
