Fat-Burners Demystified

Fat-Burners Demystified

Lets face it. Everyone wants to look their best. Whether its your new haircut, your physique, or the clothes you wear. One of the most important parts of creating the best version of yourself is your health, and more importantly your body-fat percentage and muscle size. For men and women it is ideal to have a lower body-fat percentage and some muscle mass. Supplements, diet, and workout routines are the key factors in creating that ideal look.

Supplementation

So you have gotten your workout schedule down, and your diet is looking pretty good. Now you are thinking of adding some supplements into your routine. We wont concern ourselves with building muscle in this article we will focus on burning fat.

Do Your Research

One of the biggest scams in the fitness world is the idea of a "magic pill". There is no fat-burning pill that will get you results instantly. No matter how much caffeine they use, or how many ingredients they stuff in the product. BPI Sport's does offer "fat-burning" pills though. Roxy Lean and B4 are thermogenic fat-burners that aim to help the body burn fat through the use of studied herbs and ingredients. But it is not magic!

Roxy Lean uses Niacin, Caffeine, and Yohimbe as its main ingredients to aid fat-loss. Niacin flushes water out of the body causing you to sweat or use the bathroom. Caffeine does similar things as Niacin, but has also shown to increase our resting metabolism while supplementing it. Yohimbe is an herb used in traditional African medecine, that many believe to have weight-loss properties.

B4 is very similar to Roxy Lean but also uses Red Wine Extract as studies have shown that the polyphenols in red wine can be beneficial for cognitive function and weight-loss.

One Of Our Favorites

One of our favorite compounds used in the fitness world today is L-Carnitine. BPI Sport's CLA+Carnitine is one of the most popular supplements in the entire industry! And this is for good reason. L-Carnitine has been shown to act as a carrier molecule, facilitating the transport of long-chain fatty acids into the mitochondria of our cells. Once inside, these fatty acids undergo beta-oxidation, a metabolic process that breaks down fats to generate ATP, the body’s primary energy currency. In basic terms, L-Carnitine has been shown to help the body convert fat cells into energy for us to use! Now what about CLA?

CLA is believed to influence body composition by affecting fat metabolism. It can inhibit the activity of an enzyme called lipoprotein lipase, which is responsible for storing fat in adipose tissue (fat cells). By reducing the activity of this enzyme, CLA may help decrease the amount of fat that is stored after eating, potentially leading to a decrease in body fat over time. In basic terms, CLA may help the body store less fat from the food we eat!
